It is my one year wedding anniversary this week which I had originally not planned on doing much for. I quickly learned that was not a good idea. 🙂 So I will be heading for the beach in just a little but before I do, I wanted to give you some words of wisdom.
Yesterday, I interviewed my very good friend, coach and co-founder of Vision Day, Rob Berkley. Rob has dedicated his life to helping people live exceptional lives and he is INCREDIBLE at it.
During the interview he said something that I quickly wrote down:
"If you're not clear on what's important to you, it doesn't matter how motivated you are or how hard you work, you will always struggle."
How true is that?
For years I struggled to make money because I kept try to do things I thought would make money instead of working in areas where I am naturally gifted.
How about you? Are you working in your area of genius doing work that's truly important to you?
What Rob said is also true on the micro-level regarding putting together killer sales presentations. If you're not clear on precisely what you want your audience to do at the end of your presentation and on their transformation, you will struggle to make sales no matter how pumped up you get yourself before you walk out on "stage."
Clarity is power.
I'm off to the beach. Talk tomorrow.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
