Hi oh hi oh, it’s off to the French Quarter we go

Methinks my young lad will be attending LSU in the fall. The tour we went on was impressive as was the live tiger they have on campus. I wasn’t aware that “Mike The Tiger” was housed there.

The only snafu happened at the very beginning of the tour when the guide went to show us a promotional video.

First, it wasn’t queued up, so he had to scroll through a bunch of videos to find the correct one. Once he started playing it, there wasn’t any sound. He had to leave the room, do something behind the scenes, and start the video over from the beginning.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a reason for my son to choose LSU. It was a minor incident in what was an overall great experience.

However, it did set the wrong tone for the tour, and it could have easily been avoided. All the guide needed to do was get to the room 15 minutes early and do a simple check to make sure everything was ready to rock.

Next week, I’m conducting my first mastermind meeting of the year. You can bet your bippy that I’ll be down in the room before the start of the event to make sure everything is working and set up the way I want it to be.

You need to do the same before all of your presentations – whether you are doing a one-to-many presentation or a one-to-one sales presentation.

Make sure you have everything you need, and that all of your technology is working before you begin. It’ll give you peace of mind and ensure that you make a good initial impression on your audience. Best if you have a checklist and go through it every time you present.

Today, we’re spending the night in New Orleans, in the French Quarter. What could be more wholesome for a family? I should have a good story for you tomorrow. 🙂

Peace.
