The first thing I did this morning & my tale of woe

Let me just say this:

Floor unit air conditioners at hotels suck.

I’m in Orlando for a speaking gig and every time the air conditioner kicks on, it sounds like a 747 taking off in my room.

Ah, the joys of being on the road.

But, I get to speak and sell today from the stage and that’s a good thing. The problemo is that I haven’t done my Psychic Sales presentation is quite some time so I’m a bit rusty. That’s nothing one rehearsal won’t fix though.

Here’s what I do the last thing before I go to sleep at night and first thing in the morning whenever I’m going to sell on stage – regardless of how many times I’ve done a presentation:

Click through my Keynote slides.

Doing this right before sleeping and upon waking reinforces in my  mind what I am going to say, when I’m going to say it and the order of my presentation. Additionally, it gives me an extra layer of assurance that my slides, animations and transitions are all working properly.

Even the most professional, seasoned rock bands do a soundcheck every time before a live show. A pro doesn’t leave anything to chance. You can’t either.

By the way, this applies to one-to-one selling. If you have an important pitch to make, review it before you go to sleep and first thing in the morning. Your sales will improve and your bank account will grow.

Okay, kemosabe, it’s time for your fearless leader to do a bit of yoga and then start rehearsing. I want to take ALL the money out of the room today.

Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
