To all my American brothers and sisters, Happy Independence Day. Are we blessed or what to live in this great country or what?
I am spending the holiday up at a stunningly serene bed and breakfast in the mountains of Helen, GA. The wife and I are going to the wineries and hiking to waterfalls. It doesn’t get much better than that.
If you don’t live in the States, my guess is you still live in a society where you are free to pursue your dreams and goals. You’re free to travel where you want, when you want. You’re free to start a business and profit from it.
There is so much to be grateful for but we can lose sight of that with our everyday struggles and when we read about about another atrocity committed by evil people. The fact is for every act of terror there are hundreds of acts of compassion and kindness that go unheard of.
Yes, there are people that want to take away our freedom and independence but in the end, good will conquer evil as it always has done. But we canNOT take our freedom and independence for granted.
So today, as you are enjoying time with your family, let’s remember the brave people who paved the path of freedom for us. Let’s be grateful for all we have. And let’s reflect on all the goodness that surrounds us.
Have a wonderful day.
