My vegetarian past and other musings

It’s Friday and I’m fried from doing a two day seminar so today’s message, grasshopper, is going to be brief.

If you want to sell more of your stuff you need to develop a bond with your audience. One of the best ways to do that is to tell personal stories that reveal who you are.

For example, earlier today I told the seminar attendees that “I used to be a vegetarian…but I fixed that problem.” I also talked about and showed them pictures of my kids. I told a self-deprecating story.

The point is, I connected with my audience by being real with ’em. Since they feel like they know me, they trust me and with trust comes higher sales.

By the way, I wasn’t actually selling a product today. BUT, you are always selling something. Today, I was selling my philosophy on email marketing.  I was selling them on following my system.

You’re always selling something and either you’re good at it or you aren’t.

I’m planning on doing training on email marketing in the next couple weeks. It’ll cost you nada. Details coming when I have ’em.
