Twas the day before Christmas and Dave is...
Let me 'splain...
I told you yesterday, I was taking the 12:20 AM red eye to MA. My ticket clearly said 12:20 AM, December 23rd.Yesterday was the 23rd but when the clock struck midnight on Monday, the 22nd, it turns into Tuesday the 23rd. Get it?
I missed my damn flight by a day.
Fortunately, there was a seat left and I got on the 12:20 AM flight. Unfortunately, there was no room on the flight from MN to MA unless I wanted to wait until 7:30 PM. This wouldn't have gotten me into MA until 10:30 PM and I would have missed my family's annual Christmas party.
So, I got on my trusty computer and went to http://www.sidestep.com/to see if I could get a same day flight on another airline.
Woo hoo! I could get an 11:15 flight on United, with a layover in Chicago, getting me to MA at 4:45 - in plenty of time for the party. As you can imagine, it cost me a pretty penny but it'll be worth it.
I've had one hour of sleep since yesterday but I don't need no stinkin' sleep! But I can tell ya, I'm in no mood to write a profound business building email.
So, instead, I want to answer some comments I received from yesterday's email about one of the worst movies of all time"Twilight."
One guy told me I shouldn't watch vampire movies because they give me "strange" ideas. Dude, I am not the one getting strange ideas. Alexis is so obsessed with the books that she told me she wants to be a vampire! That's reason 107 she is a "freaky California chick."
A woman, broke the news to me that "vampires aren't real."Really? Well, that might be true but the ultra wimpy vampires in the movie "Twilight" who glitter in the sunlight seem more inclined to be part of a Liberace review (on MANY levels) than a movie about vampires.
A number of folks (all women) told me that the movie was good. One suggested that my girlfriend should go see female oriented movies with her girlfriends and that I should go see movies where people are being killed left and right, with the boys.
Just for the record, my girlfriend HATED the movie as much,if not more, than I did. My dislike of the film had nothing to do with it being a chick flick - it had everything to do with it being poorly acted, poorly edited and some of the worst make-up you have ever seen. The lead vampire looked like he was wearing red lipstick - because he was! (See the Liberace reference.
Alexis has a knack for picking out really bad movies. Heck,I actually went to see Sex In The City with her. (And, oh goodie, part two is in the works.)
I think she should go to see "Unborn" with me in January. That's a horror movie where I'm sure they'll be plenty of gore and killin'...and NO glittering vampires.
What do ya say guys? It's time she goes to see something I like, right? (Of course, she did go with me to see the new James Bond flick, but after dragging me to Twilight, Sex In The City, and other nightmarishly bad flicks, she's gotta lot of making up to do!)
Gotta run, my plane is boarding. Wonder if I'll get stuck in Chicago.
Merry Christmas!
