What you really need... a very personal message

This is a long email, but I encourage you to read the whole thing because this is me speaking to you, straight from my heart. In it, I share some extremely personal things. This is not a sales ploy or marketing. It is genuinely me.

And, it's exactly what you need to hear to be successful.

Last night, during my webcast, I taught you more strategies for attracting leads and converting them into sales but the truth is I can teach you strategies every which way from Sunday, but you've got enough of that, from me and everyone else.

What you need is the truth...and this email is gonna give it to you.

You already know this is a fantastic business. You already want to be doing it. You wouldn't have invested in my book and made the time to get on the webcast if you didn't.

What you need now is real guidance about how to do it.

In this email, I am giving you the 100% truth about what it takes to succeed in the information marketing business without one ounce of hype.

Here are the facts:

1. The information marketing business is a real business and it requires work. Real work.
I work hard. If you want to be successful, you are going to have to work hard at it. There is not a magic bullet.

It is true that this business gives you a great lifestyle and more free time than having a job (and that this is the best time to get into the business), but you can't just sit on the couch and expect money to come in. If you have a job or a current business, and want to get into the information marketing business, you are going to have to work at starting it at night. That is what I did. That is what Alexis did. That is what James Brown, that's what Ron Reich did and what every other successful person I have coached as done.

This is a business you can start at night in your free time and that you are going to work hard at if you want success.

2. You truly need to have real knowledge or expertise in an area to be successful.
Almost every successful information marketer has come from the niche that they are already involved in. Joe Polish was a carpet cleaner and sells training and coaching to carpet cleaners. Alexis is a lawyer and teaches other lawyers. I am a magician and taught magicians and before I began to teach information marketing, I became an information marketer.

Yes, there are exceptions to this but the exceptions are definitely not the rule. It is very difficult to go into a market you don't know. I have tried on a number of occasions and failed.

Yes, my 7-minute yoga for golfers was a success even though I don't play golf, but I also failed to go into the day care market, the chiropractic market, and the podiatry market,among others, because I did not know what the people in these marke s really wanted the way a day care owner,chiropractor or podiatrist would. And didn't have a coaching member who was pursuing them.

In contrast, I was hugely successful in the magic market and guided Charley Martin to huge success in the dentist market and Alexis Martin Neely and James Brown to huge success in the lawyer market and Ron Reich to huge success in the pick-up market.

Why?

Because I had an intimate awareness of what magicians wanted and needed, Charley knew what dentists wanted and needed,Alexis and James knew what lawyers wanted and needed. Ron knew what pick up guys wanted and needed.

And that's the most important part of all of this ... you have to be able to get into the heart and mind of your target market and feel what they really want and need.

The best way to do this is to teach what you wish someone had taught you when you were making your way. The best part about doing this is that as you teach others, you become even more successful yourself. Because what better way to really learn how to do something than to teach it?

As you are building your product, your course, your teleseminar ... whatever you are going to use as your lead generation magnet and your lead-in product (see my book if you don't know what these terms mean), remember back to what you wish you had known and what you wish you could have called up a mentor to ask about. Remember back to how you felt when you didn't know anything at all and had to do it all alone and create your products for that version of you.

It's hard to do that if you've never been there.

3. It is very hard to do this on your own.

Yes, there are some people who can learn how to do something by picking up a book, a manual and a set of CDs and sitting down and following them step by step.

These people are very rare.

The truth of the matter is that you can invest in every course from here to timbuktu and be more lost and confused than ever.

I sure was. Alexis definitely was.

My business did not really start doing well until I started getting personal coaching from Dan Kennedy. Alexis floundered around for nearly two years before hiring me as her coach. And, she's smart and reads just about every book she gets her hands on. More information is not what you need.

Here's the truth: EVERY SINGLE SUCCESSFUL INFORMATION MARKETER HAS A MENTOR. Period.

In fact, every single successful person has a mentor, not just information marketers. Here's a few:

Jay Leno had Johnny Carson
Bill Glazer had Dan Kennedy
Tony Robbins had Jim Rohn
Andrew Carnegie had Napoleon Hill
Frank Sinatra had Bing Crosby
Dennis Hopper had James Dean

I could go on and on, but you get my point, right?

What you need is to have someone take you by the hand and show you what to do. To help you implement a system you in the right direction, answer your questions and brainstorm (mastermind) with you and hold you accountable.

This person should be someone who is successfully doing what you want to do. Someone you pay. Someone who is at least one step ahead of you.

I honestly don't know of another way to be successful in this business and I have yet to meet any successful information marketer that hasn't done it any other way, no matter how smart they are.
Yes, you can try to put together your own group of accountability colleagues who get together weekly or monthly to "mastermind" together, but has that worked for you so far?

No.

Why? Because if there is no one leading the group, if no one is paying to be there and there is no formalized process, it's a waste of your time.

Believe me, I've done it. And if you think you are saving money by doing that, you are wrong.
All you are doing, is spinning your wheels and delaying your success even longer because you've convinced yourself you are taking action when you are not.

And that is costing you far more money than you can even imagine is possible ... every moment that you delay your success is taking you away from realizing your dreams.

4. There is no guarantee of success...no matter who is helping you.

I was lucky that my first information marketing product was a hit with magicians. Because I had success right out of the gate, I thought that was supposed to happen every time.
I quickly learned though that's not the case.

My list of projects that did not work is long...as is every other successful information marketer's list.

You've heard me talk about my platinum mastermind member Ron Reich, who killed on a recent product launch he did($225,000) but this was the third thing he tried this year.The first two weren't hits by any means. Alexis, had many failures before she did her now famous $117,000 teleseminar.The key is persistence.

What you try at first might bomb. You need to learn from that failure, record the lesson, and try again. There is NO secret formula, system or technique that makes your success foolproof other than persistence.

The persistence is worth it. When you have success in this business, there's no better feeling in the world.

Not only does it pay off financially, but helping other\people get more of what they want is the best high in the world. And this business offers both of that.

But, it won't come easily. You probably already know that though, don't you?

You registered for the webcast or bought my boo because you have an idea. A good idea. An idea that will really help people and give you the freedom you want from your business.
But, you don't know where to start. Or perhaps you have started but don't see any mo'ney coming in and you need i tto start coming in right now.

If that's you, I can help you. But not by selling you another product that is just going to confuse you even more.

I can help you by taking you by the hand and guiding you into the next phase of success.

I can help you by telling you exactly what to do for YOUR BUSINESS in the next 90 days to get to the mo'ney more quickly so you can stay in business, so you can persist.

I can help you by putting you in a room with other people just like you who want the same thing you do and are going to help you think bigger than what you think is possible right now. People who will JV with you, mastermind with you, support you and hold you accountable.
